Butterflies rarely appeared in embroidery. In most regions, they appeared only occasionally, not as part of established patterns but rather as exceptions. As we developed this capsule, we studied archival samples and solitary butterfly motifs in folk art. We were struck by their spontaneity, playfulness, and lightness, and chose to reinterpret the design in a contemporary way.
A defining feature of the vests is the interplay between naive embroidery and a practical cut. Made from waterproof raincoat fabric with lightweight insulation, the vests provide warmth in cold weather while remaining comfortable for layered transitional and winter styling.
