Preparation for the filming process, 10 hours of travel, a filming day under the scorching sun in an area where this is not practiced and two nights without sleep. All this for you to see the new ETNODIM collection.
This time, the designers were inspired by the only protected area of the steppe in Europe that was never cultivated by people - Askania-Nova. The decisive impetus for determining the theme of the collection was the trailer of the film "Askania-Nova" about the history of the steppe reserve.
Usually, creating a new collection, the designer is inspired by book ornaments, specialized literature, visits art exhibitions, museums, and performances, but this time it happened differently. The source of inspiration was a specific place in Ukraine. After careful research and study of all the features of the area, a unique ornament was created.
"We wanted to leave an imprint of the area on the fabrics of dresses and shirts, to create some kind of folkloric metaphor through images and symbols."

Three o'clock in the afternoon, seven people get into the car, load shooting equipment, new models of dresses, shooting surroundings and arrive at Askania-Nova at two in the morning. Calling this meeting a date they had been waiting for so long and wanted a 100% match.
As we already wrote, commercial photography in Ukrainian safari is not practiced. Usually, a group of people rents a bus, a driver and a guide accompany them for several hours of travel. It was, but ...
Our first guide was a woman who moved to Askania-Nova 20 years ago, she knows her job perfectly and is in love with what she does. The second guide was a man who was a scientist in the past. He scientifically talked about the terrain, animals. We had a half hour lunch break and a full, eventful day of shooting between two excursions.
Photographer, model, stylist, makeup artist and assistants are people who were allowed to shoot. A team that supported each other in the hottest moments, namely a few hours in the middle of the steppe under the scorching sun. They laid out the tent and other decor, turned into real explorers, holding reflectors, cameras in their hands and hunting for perfect shots.
The shooting turned out to be diverse, it reveals not only the collection, the beauty of the steppe, but also covers the other corner of Askania - Nova. Such as the arboretum and local water bodies.
"A special atmosphere reigns in this place. The free steppe, friendly and sincere people seem to discover a new Ukrainian reality, full of proximity to nature," the filming participants emphasized.
Therefore, upon returning to Kiev, the ETNODIM team, in addition to the sweet sensation of completeness, pleasant fatigue, enjoyed the reflection of freedom for a long time. In a new collection, new photos and own hearts.
