On January 14 Ukrainian clothing brand ETNODIM performed its first item from to-do list 2017 - photo shoot in Bukovina. For the presentation of the collection team visited one of the most interesting places in Western Ukraine, where Malanka is celebrated in a special way - Krasnoilsk village.
90% of the Krasnoilsk population - Romanian origin, so the customs which are preserved in this settlement, are unusual when compared with the whole Ukraine..
Moreover - all four parts of the village differ one from another by the unique costumes and images - this is something that ETNODIM is always looking for creating its own dresses and shirts.
The whole year almost 1,000 men of the village have been prepareing the traditional costumes of gypsies, bears, kings, queens, and many others for this performance. The most fanciful dresses have bears - they look like angels with wings or straw haystack.
The weight of such suits are several kilograms and it is often difficult to move in them. But Malankara people bypass each house in the village, welcoming hosts with holidays and wishing all the best for the next year.
