Hand-carved chess set by Etnodim

Each piece is turned by hand by Pan Vasyl, a woodworker from the Kosiv region. The light pieces are made from sycamore, while the dark ones are crafted from Carpathian walnut. Each piece contains a metal weight for a satisfying feel in the hand, with the Etnodim logo engraved in brass on its base.

The handcrafted nature of each set makes it unique—no two sets are alike. The most intricate piece, the knight, is carved entirely by hand.

To make the set easy to take anywhere, we replaced heavy wooden boxes with an embroidered cotton tote. The tote doubles as both the chessboard and a convenient carrying bag, with two fabric organizers inside to keep the light and dark pieces separate.
